HYPER HAWK Redesign Sketch Sesh

recently when ive drawn hyper hawk i havent really been digging some of his look, which i think is p understandable since i made him years and years ago when i didnt have the knowledge or ability to draw these kinds of characters and armor and stuff well. i still dont, but i think ive gotten a lil better lol

this was a lil sketch sesh i did where i tried coming up with a better overall look for him. in universe i imagine if i ever make a hyper harem henshin hero 2 hed get this new suit as an upgrade in the story and use it from then on. i think it looks cleaner with more interesting shapes and stuff that makes a lil bit more sense. still not very good at helmets and armor and all that but i like it so far

the big things i liked with this is the helmet change and the fire scarf thing. i split it off into two and made it kinda hang back below him more rather than just high up and off to the side (tho it can still do that if i ever feel like drawing it like that ofc). but i also figured once he starts flying around the scarf can naturally morph into wings to better get across the whole phoenix theme hes got going. i think it looks neat

i also took this time to try and hash out a more concrete design for the hyper drives and hyper chips he uses to make temporary weapons and abilities, and to transform into different modes. i do think that what id wanna do with the different modes is actually give them more unique lil changes to the armor and maybe changing the scarf to be less fire and more fitting for whatever element/theme the mode has, but i didnt feel like doing that for this lil sketch so its just a recolor lol

and then on the left is a first swing at the halbird, which would be his signature weapon. the idea i had was that in a hypothetical hhhh2 hed get it forged by some blacksmith gilf goddess. hiroto would prolly ask her for a heroic sword and shed tell him shes fucking sick of making swords and that polearms are cooler anyway so she makes this for him instead. i think it makes him a lil more interesting as a fighter if this is his main weapon, plus it starts with an h and i can spell the “berd” part as “bird” so it fits well with his theme lol
